Breast Implant Removal

In certain situations where the implants have caused more concerns than benefits or when the patient feels they are not as important as they have been for their psychological well-being, the decision to remove the implants is made. This is a very simple operation that can be performed quickly, under light anesthesia or sometimes no anesthesia, especially if there has been no rupture of the silicone gel filled implants.

To perform the removal of breast implants, the scar from the original anesthesia is used. If there will be considerable droop of the breasts as a result of the removal, a mastopexy should be planned.
